El Paso Pug Rescue

Animal Shelter Advisory Committee (ASAC)

Behind the ScenesAmanda Herrera

It has been a while since I've posted anything, but I assure you that I have been very busy with the Pugs and the animal community.

I'm excited to announce that I have been appointed as a Board Member for the City of El Paso's Animal Shelter Advisory Committee. It's a great advancement for me, and I'm excited to serve on a city council committee that solely serves to protect animal welfare. I will be representing the animal welfare organizations in El Paso, and also District 5.

I even got a congratulatory letter and a certificate from Mayor Oscar Leeser! It's a pretty big deal! I have always been committed to protecting animals. I will do everything in my power to make the City of El Paso a better and safer place for all of the animals in our community.

The ASAC provides guidance and advice to all of the animal shelters located within the City of El Paso regarding compliance by the shelters with the requirements of Chapter 823, Texas Health and Safety Code and other applicable state regulations.
